Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, which consists of peptide chains and amino acids, and together with hyaluronic acid, represents the foundation of the extracellular matrix. Collagen production slows down with age, and it is additionally destroyed by harmful UV rays, exposure to pollution and an unhealthy lifestyle. In women, this process is especially accelerated with the onset of menopause. With the decline of collagen, the skin becomes more and more relaxed, wrinkles form and deepen, dark spots appear and the skin loses its shine.
