Peptides are amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, such as collagen and elastin. Among the peptides, argyreline and SYNAKE peptide stand out. Argireline is a fragment of SNAP-25, a substrate of botulinum toxin (botox), while the activity of SYNAKE peptide is based on a synthetic tripeptide that mimics the effect of Waglerin-1, a substance found in snake venom of the Tropidolaemus wagleri species. It is an alternative to botox.
